I was playing Left 4 Dead this morning (Just got it for PC!), and was thinking if a zombie mod would be possible? If this mod was even possible (I don't see why not), I would hold off development for it until we get other mods done. We could retexture the zombies, and make new ones, so they have clothes or armor, or something like that, and make new animations and stuff. But still, this mini mod is in the back of my head for now, and once we get Isles of Aestas and some of those others done, we could possibly start this one. But anyways, it was just an idea for now

Re: Zombie Apocalypse?
Well I am always making Mods for Left 4 Dead and I recently thought of the same thing. I can get the Zombies into Max with animations but then converting into .nif is where I would be stuck .

Re: Zombie Apocalypse?
Can you send me the Left 4 Dead files, via e-mail, OblivionModda? I want to try something.
And how do you get the SDK tools? I downloaded the cracked version via torrent of Left 4 Dead, and I don't know how to get the SDK tools

Re: Zombie Apocalypse?
I figured out animation now you export as obj then import it into 3d max, thenexport it again as obj then open it up in nifskope and save as a nif file

Re: Zombie Apocalypse?
Well you need Steam to download the SDK and I don't use the SDK anyway, I use GFScape and VTF Edit to export the things I want so I can re-skin Louis for example . By the way I have a Hamachi network up (was only for my Family but you can join) if you wanna play some L4D sometimepsman012 wrote:Can you send me the Left 4 Dead files, via e-mail, OblivionModda? Re: Zombie Apocalypse?
Easier method! This is how I do it, visit NifTools and download the Niftools 3D max plugin .exe and .7z files here (scroll down till you find max_plugins on the download page. Open exe, select your version of MAX, install! Then open the .7z file and copy its files to the proper folders in your max directory. Then when you open max next you can import and export nif files directly without the need to keep converting files.
NifTools also released a plugin version for blender and maya.
This method makes life so much easier. If you have any problems let me know.

Re: Zombie Apocalypse?
It won't be long now till the 2010 patch comes out, the people at Niftools are usually on the ball when it comes to releasing updates!
